It was a perfect end to a great racing season. Crisp, cool
temperatures and steady winds provided the setting for seven skippers to
showcase the skills they have been accumulating all season. In addition, the
Club succeeded in encouraging a bigger turnout, making the days events more
exciting and enjoyable.
Once again, long-time club member John Ebey was able to join
us after a break from sailing in other classes. John’s experience was evident as
shown by his 8 first place finishes for 11 points. Following in second place
was Cliff Craig with 21 points. Sail #1073, skippered by Arnie Quan and Ron De
Blasi, and Gary Watson each had 35 points but because Arnie had a first place
finish to break the tie they were awarded third place overall and Gary fourth.
In fifth place was Bill Wright with 36 points although it should be noted that Bill
allowed potential new sailors to skipper his boat in some of the later races.
In sixth and seventh place respectively was Steve
Delva and Ron De Blasi’s other boat.
The 2009 season awards saw first place go to Bill Wright
with 93 points overall. Second place was awarded to Steve Delva with 158 points
and third place went to Cliff Craig with 203 points.
