For a moment it seemed like old times. The August regatta
was happy to see the return of John Ebey to the fleet after his two-year
absence, racing boats in another class. John showed he still knows how to sail
a 914, coming in first overall with 10 points including 8 first place
finishes. Bill Wright was second with 28
points giving John a challenge in each race. However, electrical problems in
the 7th race prevented Bill from finishing the remaining heats.
Right behind Bill was Steve Delva in third place with 29 points. Gary Watson
came in fourth with 34 points. Cliff Craig finished fifth with 40 points but
had a commitment that prevented him from completing the last five races.
It should be mentioned that Gary’s final 4 races were skippered by Wilkes
Joy who had previously sailed boats in other classes but is considering joining
our fleet. We are looking forward to Wilkes becoming part of fleet.
