It doesn’t seem possible, but once again the July regatta
was able to enjoy nearly perfect conditions. Mild temperatures and moderate
breezes were the order of the day enabling boat captains to focus on race
strategy rather than weather. And once again we were fortunate to have a strong
turnout making for an exciting day.
For the fleet, beating the veteran Bill Wright proved to be
illusive as Bill posted another strong performance with 12 points and six first
place finishes. However, Cliff Craig managed a spirited challenge with 16
points and three first places. Steve Delva delivered a solid third place with
25 points followed by Bob Kolowich in fourth with 33 points. Completing the results were Michael Solomon and Gary Watson
with 45 and 50 points respectively.
Improved sailing skills, as evidenced by decreasing
separation between boats, have provided a much more exciting and enjoyable
racing experience for all sailors. We hope to see everyone at the next regatta
in August.
