Overcast skies, moderate but steady winds and electrical problems were the order of the day for the June races for the Shoreline Model Yacht Club. Balky transmitters and dead batteries plagued three of the boats making for a frustrating day.

Finishing first was Steve Delva with 14 points including four first places finishes. Coming back after a long absence was Cliff Craig who posted an impressive second place with 23 points and two firsts. Bill Wright came in third with 31 points and two firsts but had battery problems in the seventh race and was unable to finish the remaining races. In fourth place was Michael Solomon with 32 points and his first winning race of the season. Gary Watson followed with 45 points but was also the victim of battery problems that kept him out of two races. Pip Ziman’s transmitter problems did not allow him to compete but we look forward to his return next month.

We all agreed that more boats makes the racing experience more fun and hope that everyone can join us again July 18th.
