With nearly perfect conditions, the Shoreline Model Yacht Club’s May regatta hosted seven boats, a goal the club has been hoping to reach for some time. The moderate and consistent winds made for an enjoyable day for both newcomers and veterans alike.

Once again Bill Wright held onto his first place position, posting 9 first place finishes and receiving 9 points. Steve Delva was second with 23 points and Pip Ziman was third with 30 points. It should be noted that Pip suffered hull damage to his boat in the seventh heat and was unable to continue in the remaining heats. Philip Chou was right behind with 36 points and Gary Watson followed with 45. Rounding out the fleet were newcomers Michael Solomon and Todd Johnson with 47 and 51 points respectively.

We are all looking forward to the upcoming races and the excitement that the larger fleet brings. See you next month.
