Opening Day of the 2009 season saw seven sailors competing on a day that had mild temperatures but unpredictable wind directions and speeds. One of the goals of the fleet for last year was to get more people involved which results in more exciting races. It appears that we are succeeding as evidenced by the participation last month. We also understand that there are several other sailors who are completing their boats and will be joining us soon.

Despite the uneven conditions, Bill Wright once again showed how tough he is going to beat by post 9 out of 10 first place finishes for a score of 9. Steve Delva placed second with 24 and Pip Ziman third with 32. Right behind was Philip Chou with 36. Next was Gary Watson with 40 which included a second and 2 third place finishes out of the 10 races.Following were newcomers, Bob Kolowich and Todd Johnson with 47 and 55 points respectively. As their boat handling and tuning skills increase, we expect these new guys to be competitive in a very short period of time.

See you all next month!
