In our July regatta, we were fortunate enough to have Philip and Wade from San Luis Obispo join us again. Both made our heats very competitive and we enjoyed hearing about Phil’s exploits at the Nationals in San Diego last October. Phil placed fifth in the Gold Fleet and won the Masters Championship for the top finishers ago 60 and older. You can read all of the details in the Spring 2007 issue of the CR914 Chronicle.

Once again, race conditions were nearly perfect with moderate temperatures and steady winds. Although challenged by Phil and Wade, Bill still managed to post four first places, five seconds and third for the day, giving him top honors. Sean also delivered a strong performance with four wins and two seconds. Sean might have finished even higher had another boat not collided with his sending him from first to third in one of the final heats.

Steve had several strong finishes and is making good progress with his starts and strategy decisions. Three points separated him and Sean and six from first place finisher Bill. Gary is getting closer to having his boat tuned and has a plan for making the corrections.
