Our June regatta was held under near perfect conditions with
mild temperatures, sunny skies and steady breezes. While Father’s Day weekend
commitments prevented several members from attending, the fleet was fortunate
enough to welcome a new member, Sean Dexter. Armed with previous sailing
experience, Sean turned in an incredible performance with 3 first place
finishes and 5 second places. However,
veteran Bill Wright still remained champion for the day with 5 first place
finishes and 5 second places.
Starts for the fleet overall improved greatly and
separations between boats were shrinking. Pip and Steve had some particularly
spirited duels rounding the marks. Gary had several strong starts and gains
valuable experience each month. There have been some inquiries from other 914
owners in the area and we hope they are able to join our fleet for future
regattas.
